(Welcome...) The Italian translation of Sul Mare is "overlooking the sea" or "by the sea."

Sul Mare Restaurant in Tenants Harbor, Maine, has the look and feel of an authentic Italian country farmhouse. The menu consists of country Italian, French and local fare. We offer something for everyone with a wide array of appetizers, salads, pastas, soups and wood-grilled meats and fish.

Everything is prepared in-house, from scratch, and includes offerings for vegetarians and customers with special dietary needs, as well. We feature locally-grown certified organic foods and an assortment of homemade breads and desserts. The food is exciting, fun and creative while at the same time, sticks to the basics.

By mixing soft colors, natural woods, a terra cotta floor and a fireplace inside, we've created a traditional Italian country atmosphere. The focal point of the dining room is the open kitchen, where much of the cooking takes place on a custom-designed hardwood grill built by local stone mason Jay Cook using all local stones. The aromas from the food cooking on the grill foster feelings of intrigue and anticipation in the dining room. Comfortable banquettes aligned with wood tables and chairs create a cozy relaxed setting for dining.
